The Story Behind Tast-e

We believe everyone deserves to look their best — without the stress, the waste, or the price tag.

Our Mission

Tast-e exists to democratize personal style. We're building the world's first complete attire lifecycle platform — one that helps you organize what you own, style what you have, buy only what you need, and earn from what you don't wear. All powered by AI, all in one app.

The fashion industry generates $500 billion in waste annually. The average person wears only 20% of their wardrobe regularly. We're here to change both of those numbers — by helping people look incredible with less, spend smarter, and participate in the circular fashion economy effortlessly.

Our Values

🎯

People First

Every feature starts with a real person's closet problem. We build for busy professionals, budget-conscious students, and style-loving families — not algorithms.

🌱

Sustainable Style

We reduce fashion waste by helping people maximize what they own, buy secondhand first, and give unused items a second life through consignment.

🤖

AI for Good

Our AI doesn't push you to buy more — it helps you buy less and smarter. Technology should serve your style, not exploit your wallet.

🤝

Radical Accessibility

Looking great shouldn't require a stylist's salary. Our free tier gives everyone access to AI closet management and basic outfit curation.

How We Got Here

The Elevator That Started Everything

Dave stepped into an elevator wearing khakis, a blue button-down, and brown shoes he was pretty sure matched his belt. Amanda was already inside. She took one look.

"Dave. Those shoes do not go with those pants."

"What's wrong with my shoes?"

"Everything."

This wasn't the first time. Amanda — 15+ years in sales, always the best-dressed person in the room — had been informally styling Dave (and half their colleagues) for years. Dave — 27+ years in technology, the guy who could architect an AI system before breakfast — couldn't match a tie to a pocket square to save his life.

Walking to a meeting, Amanda said: "Someone should build an app that tells people like you what to wear."

Dave stopped. "...I could actually build that."

"But could you make it sell things too? Half my closet needs to go."

That conversation became a whiteboard session. Then a prototype. Then Tast-e.

Dave Stanton — Co-Founder & CTO

The Technologist

27+ years in enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and AI. Built Tast-e's AI engine — closet scanning, outfit curation, and marketplace pricing. Turns "what if" into working software. (Still occasionally wears mismatched shoes, but now the app catches it.)

💎

Amanda Black — Co-Founder & CEO

The Stylish Closer

15+ years in business development and sales. ACU grad. The force behind Tast-e's brand, partnerships, and Concierge service. Can look at your wardrobe and see 40 outfits you didn't know you had.

The Problem

Closets full of clothes, nothing to wear. Hundreds of dollars sitting unworn. Shopping for things you already own. The fashion lifecycle was broken across a dozen apps that didn't talk to each other.

The Build

Dave built the AI. Amanda built the business. Computer vision meets closet intuition. They combined 42 years of combined experience into one platform that scans, styles, shops, and sells.

Today

10K+ beta users. 50K+ outfits styled. $2M+ resold. Concierge service in 7 cities. Two co-founders who still argue about shoes — except now there's an app for that.

Our Team

Behind Dave and Amanda is a growing team of fashion lovers, AI engineers, and marketplace veterans who believe the future of fashion is personal, sustainable, and powered by intelligence.
